How vain it is to sit down and write when you have not stood up to live.
Henry David Thoreau was one of the most famous historical writers in the world. He was a renowned philosophical writer who used various general quotes to get into the minds of the various readers in the world (Solvic 56). He had a moral persuasion that enabled his readers look into different writings from many sides and perceptive. One of the famous quotes was when he talked about ‘How vain it is to sit down and write when you have not stood up to live’. To understand this event first, we have to be able to get the exact meaning of what the quote speaks about. This just meant that a writing was to be of any given experience since one could only communicate his thoughts clearly of actions that he had passed through. This would form the argument that a well-documented writing needs to have the correct definitions of past life experiences. This quote in the real life can be given a vivid description of myself. Being one of the best students in my class. Brilliant and being able to pass all the examinations life brought into my pathway. One force that that drove me into my work was the power of curiosity. I wanted to have the knowledge of all the scientific and artistic way of life. This drove me into writing. Through this, I would be able to impart the much-needed knowledge to the other people. Despite all the academic achievements, one thing was still bright. The human understanding was a topic that was troublesome. Spending most of my time in library left the attachment to the external world. Apparently the aspect of relation with other people was a factor hindered me from my work. This issue led me to realizing the real sense of what Thoreau meant in his quote. Time had come that the academic discipline had to be laid down, and the act of social understanding imparted to my mind. This was an imaginary thinking of the quote where I had sat down for ages and then out of my ordinary knowledge come out to explain the false sense of humanity to the people. Though this concept was learnt late in my life that one could not be able to talk about what he had not passed through. Taking into understanding the social order of man has helped me improve my writings where can relate the social concept to the external world. This story was a clear instruction of the quote. My story is not different from many other people in the outside world. Relating this concept to the negatively affected individuals who have brought up many publications, not because of the experience each of them has impacted but just because of the mere judgement (Solvic 66). This disorder has corrupted the human thinking perception, and the real life understanding has been kept aside. Let’s take an academic discipline where one needs to illustrate his understanding of a particular species. With the acquired knowledge goes and places his writing in place. Then another person with the same thinking pattern goes down and spends physical time with the species of study and later goes to publish his book. According to the consumers, the part where we have experience will attract the majority of the interested readers. Another example will be to me, writing became better. The experience was able to make me understand the human social behaviour. The two examples clearly speak to the need of a person being accountable for his actions. Henry writings were not just for fun but to deeply understand a concept that is lurking behind the curtain. Taking an example where many of the seen writers would be able to understand the concept behind and also dedicate quality time in understanding the world behind writing (Thoreau 56). There is a need to appreciate the quantity of time we offer while in our writing. This concept can be passed apparently by first taking the time to analyse the various workings of many wri...
