Alison Jaggar, a Philosopher of feminist discourse, has widely criticized traditional western culture ethics through five ways in which he claims that "the feminist ethics have failed women." (Jaggar, 439). Alison Jaggar attempts to address the perceived idea that men are more dominant while women are supposed to be surbodinates across cultures. He opines that this view is not only untrue, but also skewed. Many researchers have since picked up the topic to try and evaluate the position of both men and women in the world.
To begin with, Alison Jaggar says that the ethics of western culture on feminism pay very little attention to the interests of women as compared to how it does as regards to those of men. Consequently, the rights of women are easily disregarded under the Western culture ethics.
Secondly, Alison Jaggar believes that feministic ethics have been misconstrued by its proponents and its critics because they endorse problems that are morally disturbing and disgusting in a world considered as "private."
