Theistic Evolution
Thesis Statement: Though theistic evolution (the idea that God was involved in part of an evolutionary process) is widely spreading, its arguments will never outdo that which is stated in the bible.
Theistic evolution is one of the major theories that try to explain the origin of life. Specifically, theistic evolution presupposes that there is a God yet disagreeing with the point of view that God created life. In addition, the theistic evolution point of view presupposes that God may have put in place the natural laws, but he did not carry out the entire process of creating life. It postulates that, God, after putting in place the necessary laws of nature left the creation process to take its own course. Obviously, this is a proposition which is in opposition to what is contained in the bible.
Clearly, the theistic evolution is a point of view which to some extent agrees with the biblical teachings but at the same time differing in other things. The assertion by the theistic evolutionist that there is a God in the world is in line with the biblical point of view. The assertion that God did not do the entire process of creating life in the world is contrary with the biblical supposition. Moreover, the theistic evolutionists maintain that the world is very old and that man came to the world long after the existence of other life creatures as demonstrated by the fossil records. This is an implication that there existed death even before the time of Adam and Eve which, is in opposition to what is the book of genesis.
A more confusing argument propagated by the theistic evolutionist is concerning the book of genesis. Theistic evolution interprets the book of genesis to be an allegory story, a point of view which is totally flawed from the Christian point of view. This is because as the theist puts it, the sun, stars and the moon were created on day one but appeared after day four. This is a misinterpretation of the book of Genesis which is clear on the issue of creation.
Over the recent past in many parts of the world, there has been a widespread tendency among theologians and Christians to interpret the bible in a way that matches the theistic point of view. The assertion by such theologians and apologist Christians that a literal interpretation of the book of genesis may confuse people is not founded. The book of genesis, which theistic evolutionists have used severally to raise controversy, is as a matter of fact, clear and straightforward. There has never been the advent of the bible a credible scientific research, conspiracy or evidence to disapprove any of the bible accounts. The theory of evolution as propagated by Charles Darwin has not in any way, for years it has been taght in universities and other institutions of learning established faults of the bible’s chronology of creation.
It is also worth mentioning that the teachings, the principles and the propositions of theist evolutionists are geared towards altering the truth as contained in the bible. From a Christian point of view, the bible is not an ordinary book, it is a book inspired by God so that humanity can follow and understand how they came to being. So far so good, there has never been another book since the history of humanity which has a logical, rational and chronological story of creation like the bible.
Due to globalization, rapid modernization, increased use and access of mass media, the theistic teachings and propositions have reached every part of the world. Many Christians and especially the lear...
