Name: Professor: Course: Date: Future of Technology Beneficial To Us Technology has significantly impacted our lives and made it better than it used to be a century ago. Imagine a scholarly life without a computer. What can one achieve especially without doing researchers? Where would one get many resources for gaining the knowledge they want? How long would one stay before collecting the information they want from books that are found in scattered libraries? All I can say is that technology has made the impossible to become possible. This is because one can access various materials that they want timely and conveniently without intervention. This precipitates the rate in which one can do and finish a research. Technology has made online education possible and made the cost of education reduce as more materials are found in various archives and online libraries. This essay will analyze the impact of technology on our future particularly the benefits that we are likely to leap. "Soon everyone on the globe will be connected to the virtual world" (Schmidt and Cohen, 219). This connectivity will bring various gains in health, education, productivity of organizations, and improve the quality of life. Technology will increase efficiency in future where many people who are in the virtual world will perform everything they want in the physical world. The people connected will get access to products and services from every corner of the world without necessarily traveling there physically. It has become possible for many people to acquire smartphones that enable them to be connected to the virtual world easily especially due to their portability. For example, there are approximately 3 billion smartphone users across Asia and over 650 million smartphone users in Africa. The smartphone users are rapidly increasing since everyone want to be connected to the digital world. This enhances instant communication through chatting using social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. This gives the people ability to use the already available data and collect more from various places. The information will soon be placed at our fingertips. In the digital world, information is power and, hence, the more information that one has the more powerful that one become. Another beneficial impact of technology is improving the relationship. The social networks and the smartphones have completely changed the manner that people relate with their friends globally. "The adolescents are assisted by technology to express their feelings as they communicate with their friends on the small screens where emotional shorthand are reduced to emoticons, which are necessary simplifications" (Turkle 237). In most cases, when young people are in their adolescence, they want to keep communicating with their friends since they start separating themselves from their parents. It is through technology that communication has been made very easy where one can send messages and photos within a split of a second. This means that people are kept close to another since they can talk anytime they want regardless of their geographical locations. Someone is just required to touch a screen to reach their friends who are presumably ready to respond since they have a phone on their hand. It will be easy to express the emotions once they are formed. Technology will support a kind of emotional style through which the feelings are not entirely experienced until they are shared or communicated. By viewing a personality test on various dating websites one can find a partner with traits of their like. In the future, people will make a perfect match for the dates that they want over the internet. The pool of the eligible dates has usually gone global. According to the National Academy of Sciences, (2013) over one-third of all the couples in the United States who married between the years of 2005 and 2013, they met on the Internet. The online dating services such as eHarmony and Match.com gives very high indices of compatibility. The dating services are progressively given intelligence for making compatible matches like the Tinder and Grindr. "Tinder shows the users their immediate vicinity where depending on one’s feelings one just swipe them to the right or left" (Witt 271). Tinder integrates with Facebook in a way that it shows one's friends who have some common interests. These dating services use that kind of algorithm that matches the profiles of people and chose a person depending on the trait that they want. The services sometimes improve the self-esteem of people where one may find that they have more positive likes from others. One may receive comments that they look beautiful, which makes them value themselves much. Technology has improved and will continually improve the security of the people since live surveillance can be installed. Through the installation of cameras in various places, the police officers can now watch various activities in various places where they report immediately in case of an illegal activity. Surveillance is greatly enhanced by the use of the two-way televisions and telescreens, which report every conversation and action directly to relevant authorities. People are continually installing the cameras even in their homes to monitor what is happening that means an improvement of security. "Technology will soon create virtual ‘double’ where marketers, employers, and businesses will use in making important decisions perta...
