Dear Selection Committee,
My name is Vivian Odanga Makungu, and I am a graduate from the South Eastern Kenya University, where I pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and Statistics in 2018. I am deeply motivated to undertake my Master of Economics at the University of Cambridge in your upcoming intake to further my knowledge and develop my career to consolidate my professionalism in this field.
Being granted an opportunity to study at the University of Cambridge will be an immense prospect that I will grab wholeheartedly. I have extensively studied and excelled in my education, thus developed in-depth knowledge in economics, especially on matters of financial decisions and the implications they have on a country’s economy. I am passionate about financial awareness and the role that economics plays in determining the success or failure of economic systems. Furthermore, I have also consistently learned through experiences gained so far in this field, as is evident in the internship programs I have enrolled in at the National Treasury and The Central Bank of Kenya over the last one year. Additionally, I have also developed a cordial relationship with my mentors, Mr. Proson Kipngeno and Dr. Benson Kimathi, who have consistently supervised my work and guided me during this period.
