Globalization and Global Health Problems
Executive Summary
Globalization has significantly transformed the way and manner in which people live and earn their living. The rise in the level of urbanization and the close combination of the global economy has dramatically supported the interconnectedness globally (Boli & Lechner, 2015). This implies that globalization has awakened the critical mechanism for the spread of diseases, which has increased health problems globally. The influence of globalization was made operational in the form of mobility, economy and even the systems of healthcare. In addition to this, the COVID-19 pandemic has a significant and rapid decrease in international flows that incorporates trade, international travel, and foreign direct investments in contemporary history (Gorynia, 2020). This indicates that there is a significant rollback of current gain in globalization. However, this does not symbolize a primary collapse of the assimilation of the international market. Nevertheless, the outbreak of COVID-19 has shepherded in some uncertainty regarding the climate. This is in return escalating protectionism. This means that globalization is at a substantive risk as the governments all over the world are challenging to drop the vulnerability to covid-19 through measures that will impede globalization. These measures include controlling the movements of people and global trade (Reshi, 2020). This report intends to assess and critically analyze the effects of globalization on global health issues or problems. The case of the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic will be utilized.
