TUBERCULOSIS
Tuberculosis is a very contagious infection, and it causes disease in the body by attacking the lungs. After entry, apart from the lungs, it gets to spread to other parts of the body such as the spine and the brain, causing further infection and weakness. Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the bacteria that causes tuberculosis infection into the human body. Despite the fatalities that come with this infection, it is undoubtedly curable within about six to nine months. Tuberculosis infection manifests in two forms; latent TB and active TB, and active TB. The disease has already taken place for latent TB, and the lungs have been attacked, but the infection is contained in one site and prevented from spreading to other vital organs to cause more damage (WHO 54). In this case, symptoms are rare, and the infected person is not considered contagious.
