Introduction:
This book Made in America written by Bill Bryson is focusing on many aspects of life. However, the most portrayed aspect is the way Bill can take the reader through the stages of history in linguistic development and linguistic development through history. His account and views on America’s birth and growth points out the timeline of American phrases, Americanism and of the pot that made the English used in America different from all the other forms of English. In the book Bill also ventures on different dialects and how they evolved and came to be in use via migration and dispersal across the country. The book Made in America was officially published by a publication company called the Black Swan in the year 1998. The book Made in America goes through different paths of the American culture as it aligns history and how it affected language change all over America.
History, culture and language are all like the same thing, since they are so tight together and all go hand in hand with each other and through this Bill cannot fail to give us a taste of all there as he showcases accounts on language. The book Made in America opens with the mayflower voyage and from that start it takes the reader to a journey which will eventually land them to the modern America, and also provide the required and necessary account of events that took place at any given time.
