In his book, the first steps in the clinical practice of psychotherapy: a practice oriented psychodynamic approach; one can clearly justify that it is a comprehensible and practical work of the clinical science world. He clearly discusses what is involved in psychodynamic oriented psychotherapy and how the clinicians can benefit from this knowledge (Matt, 2001). From chapter four, there is a clear educational structure on how to help one in developing and using the professional self understanding in the world of clinical practice. The book has done a great work of offering sound recommendations involving the methods of dynamic therapy like cognitive behavioral therapy it does not stop there but illustrate on how it can be applied in their daily field of practice.
