Introduction
Patisserie Valerie was incorporated in the year 1926. The company deals with a series of cafes in the U.K., Mainly dealing with the sale of drinks and cakes. Due to recent fraudulent activities, Patisserie Valerie closed down many of its outlets leading to many people working in the company to lose their jobs.
Compliance with the 2016 Code of Corporate Governance in the U.K
Patisserie Valerie has complied with the 2016 code of corporate governance in various aspects. Based on Section A.1.1 and A.1.2 of leadership, the company is managed by an active board that oversees the long-standing accomplishment of the company. Patisserie Valerie has clearly defined the roles of the executive and the board (Brink, 2011). The Chairman, Mr Johnson, undertakes the leadership role of the board.
