1 Review the lab findings and decide if the diagnosis is Type 2 or Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. 
The most probable diagnosis is type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) (T2DM). One of the diagnostic criteria for T2DM is an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) of ≥200mg/dL. The number for the patient in the case study was 220 mg/dL, consequently classified with type 2 diabetes mellitus (Kim et al., 2016). (Kim et al., 2016). Other signs that support the diagnosis include increased thirst, hunger, and frequent urination. He also noticed unwanted weight loss and exhaustion.
2 Explain the pathophysiology associated with your chosen diagnosis. 
Insulin resistance is the characteristic of T2DM. Insulin resistance is when the cells fail to utilize insulin effectively. This raises the requirement for the rise in insulin, and the pancreas continues to lose its capacity to generate insulin. The glucose builds up in the blood instead of going into the cells. Therefore, the two processes leading to diabetes mellitus are inadequate insulin production by pancreatic β-cell and the inability of the insulin-sensitive tissues to react to insulin correctly. A failure in the feedback loop between the action of insulin and its production leads to a high level of glucose in the circulation (Galicia-Garci et al., 2020). (Galicia-Garci et al., 2020).
