Here, companies should ensure that they prepare their workers in respect to the looming threats of job loss. Preparation should entail psychological help to ensure that those targeted are ready to face the real life situation. Companies should conduct exhibitions, benchmarking activities, and provide training seminars that will see a smooth transition of the employees to their new way of life (Need, 2006).
As such, it important encourage these workers to talk to their families, friends, and relatives to be well prepared to receive such individuals (Kalleberg, 2009). Also, the company can invest in more industries such as the craftsman sector to enable all employees with sector-wide skills to gain alternative employment in such places. On the other hand, the company can train employees on farming and other techniques of earning a living that is usually not technologically demanding (Tidd, Pavitt, & Bessant, 2011). People should also be educated and trained to gain the appropriate skills rather than being sacked immediately.
