The paper seeks to perform a comprehensive assessment of human resource planning at a prestigious sporting goods chain store. The management of the company needs to understand the demand for labor in their departments to influence the overall performance (Greene, 2014). In terms of the HR planning at the prestigious sporting goods chain, the demand for labor in the stores is expected to reduce while the demand for labor in the online environment is expected to increase.
Over the next years, the company has projected that the online revenue stream will increase by $300,000 which is a good progress (Fitz-Enz & John Mattox, 2014). Such a growth on the online revenues will lead to the demand for more workers on the online revenue department. The decline in the sales revenues in the stores will lead to a reduction in the demand for labor for the stores. While, the 30% increase of the sales online will attract an increased demand for labor.
With the current store employees being 27 employees comprising of a store manager, an assistant manager, five department managers, and 20 customer service representatives, an annual turnover of 15% will lead to a reduction in the number of the employees. Online team included five remote workers and the turnover was 30% annually.

To address the surplus of the employees, the organization will need to cut on extra employees by streamlining the instore roles and positions to fit the suitable candidates.
Some of the activities I could undertake to determine the HR supply by internal versus external candidates includes conducting performance analysis of the employees. The performance analysis will be useful in understanding the demand and supply of the employees (Tracey, 2016). On the other hand, external forces such as technological advancement that provides for online sales operations has also impact on the demand for labor and supply of the employees. At the franchise, the owner had employed five remote employees for the online sales (Cascio & Boudreau, 2014). It shows that the assessment of the adoption of technology will assist in understanding HR supply details.
In conclusion, it is clear that the internal and external aspects of the organization affects the performance of the sporting
