Introduction
This report discusses Chevron Corporation and an unethical decision made by the corporation as per the recent print media article “In 2016, Chevron Faces Potential “Litigation Catastrophe” Over Ecuador Pollution Liability.” The paper will also identify the corporation and provide some background information. This part will also highlight and explain the unethical decision in question and what makes it exactly unethical. The paper will proceed by presenting and elaborating on an alternative ethical solution while keeping the organization’s responsibilities to its stakeholders in mind. To better understand the ethical responsibility of the corporation, the ten Principle of the United Nations Compact as a frame to analyze the entire case of litigation as outlined in the article. The United Nations Global Compact Principle breached by the company will also be analyzed.

Chevron is a multinational American energy corporation, located in 180 countries worldwide, and has its headquarters situated in California (Lamb 2016). Chevron deals with the production and refining of natural resources including oil, natural gas and even geothermal energy. Chevron is the third biggest American company and 16th largest in the world with over $260 billion in assets.
