Purpose
ABC aims at providing a safe and productive environment for its patients and staff members. Therefore, guests and vendors visiting the facility should adhere to the rules of proper identification and check. The purpose of this policy is to establish processes of the aforementioned rules – in a procedure for guests, vendors, and staff members. The proposed system will provide:
1 An authorized entry into the facility, offices, wards, laboratories, and parking.
2 The system will act as a tool for security for the hospital.
3 Identification of guests, vendors, and junior employees by the administration of the hospital.
Background / Policy
This policy states that all guests, vendors, and staff should check in the hospital accordingly, as described. Once inside the premises, proper identification should be worn at all the times.
Check-in
All guests and vendors should check-in as described below. Note that for the purpose of this policy, individuals visiting a patient or an employee without a business reason are not considered guests or visitors.
1 Check–in at the medical facility should be at the main entrance for the staff, guests, and visitors.
2 Physician office – check-in should be at the reception desk
3 Service repair personnel should check-in with the ABC services’ supervisor.
4 Vendors should check-in with the procurement office.
5 Visitors should report at the reception desk before proceeding to the wards.
Identification
Badges will be utilized for the identification process. However, the following persons will not be required to have the electronic keys:
* Patients
* Guests visiting either employees or patients
* Delivery personnel.
After reporting at the main address, guests and vendors should present their company’s ID. In the event a person does not have a company-issued badge, a business card might be utilized for identification. At the entrance, vendors and guests should be provided with a hospital’s card indicating their purpose of visit and the location they are visiting.
