Wal-Mart should extensively exploit innovation in order to attain a significant competitive advantage in the future. All stakeholders of the company should think critically and strategically about its business. The respective organization needs strategic innovation, considering that it is no longer perceived as a price leader in the retail industry sector (Kadar, Moise, & Colomba, 2014). In this context, innovation is extremely important for the survival of Wal-Mart as well as the industry in which it fits in. It should be considered that the organization is adequately and strategically positioned to make a substantial impact in retail in the near future (Bekmezci, 2015). In knowledge-based economies, being innovative is imperative for the successful performance of global organizations.
