In medicine procedures, nuclear radiations get employed for both diagnosis and therapeutic functions. The general categorization of all these radiations is known as radiopharmaceuticals, which is then subclassified into diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals and therapeutic radiopharmaceuticals. The role of the former is disease detection and diagnosis. On the other hand, the latter is used for the treatment of various diseases. Diagnosis gets achieved through the injection of small doses into the body, which are then traced via advanced imaging techniques to find disease-causing cells and defects in different body organs. Examples of diagnostic radiopharmaceuticals include I131-Iodide and I131-MIBG (m-iodobenzylguanidine), which investigate thyroid uptake and neuroectodermal tumor imaging, respectively (Drozdovitch et al., 2015).
