While these initiatives are intended to improve business processes and expand customer bases, they can also lead to initiative overload, resulting in dilution of effort and misallocation of resources. This article delves into the reasons behind initiative overload and offers strategies for managing multiple change initiatives more effectively.
Initiative overload is a pervasive issue in modern organizations, often stemming from a fundamental need for strategic clarity. When organizations fail to articulate clear long-term goals and priorities, they inadvertently open the floodgates to numerous change initiatives. The lack of strategic alignment results in a scattered approach, where various departments or teams independently pursue their objectives (Kanitz & Gonzalez, 2021).
