Voodoo was a term initially used to describe the Haiti culture which was considered a religious practice by the blacks at that time. The journal gives a cognitive description of the happenings and beliefs of the Haiti people. The title of the Chapter is “Beyond Vodou and Anthroposophy in the Dominican-Haitian Borderlands.” The chapter gives us the relatedness of the Vodou religion beyond the borders of Haiti to the Dominican Republic. Vodou became famous with the interaction of the people who were keen on preserving their culture. The spread was also due to such interactions.

In her book, she describes how various animals serve various purposes in these rituals.
