Categorization of Endocrine System Hormones (Essay Sample)

The endocrine system is made of a series of glands that produce chemicals called hormones. Each gland secretes one or more hormones directly into the bloodstream. From there the hormones travel to target organs, where their effects help control various functions within different body systems.
Your discussion task is to:
1. List all of the hormones from this chapter that have a direct effect on the reproductive system. Categorize them into 3 areas: male, female and pregnancy. Be aware that some hormones may fit into more than one of the 3 categories and thus may be used twice.
2. Pick any one hormone from your lists and discuss a clinical situation in which supplemental injection of a man made version of this hormone might be beneficial.
