1 General information about the course
The instructor will be me, the name of the instructor, with the dissertation. The course will be a certificate in physical assessment and nursing whose code will be CPAN-08/2020. To be in a position to complete the course, a total of four credit hours. Each week there will be three lectures on the days Monday, Wednesday, and Friday with all addresses beginning at 9.00 am to 12.00 midday. Location of the classes will be in Room number 12, the Nursing complex. I will require you to be having the basics of human anatomy. For those who may answer some questions, my office is open from 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm every day, and in case you do not meet me in the office, you can schedule a meet via email through instructor's name@gmail.com.
2 A course description
A certificate in physical assessment is a course whose objective is to help the learner be in a position to assess a situation and determine the next course of action. Also, the learners are going to be able to perform first aid before the first responders arrive.
3 Course outcome and objectives expected
When the eight weeks are over, the learner should be able to
* Determine the urgency of a situation.
* Be conversant with the protocols that follow such events.
* Have necessary first aid skills.
* Be semi-conversant with human anatomy.
4 Required supplies
For the course, I will require you to have a copy of the textbook Human anatomy, the sixth edition, whether in hardcopy or softcopy. Also, all students should carry their laptops or places to note down important points discussed during the lesson. In addition to that, I will need the latest assessment guideline from the American Doctor’s Association.
5 Instruction methods
To effectively ensure that the students are ever engaged in class, I will adopt different teaching methods. Fayombo (2015) argues that different methods of teaching influence learners' understanding. I will employ lectures which will be accompanied by assignments, and the assignments will count in the total grading. Also, I will form groups through which I will be giving questions meant for discussion and presentation in front of the class. As a special method, I am going to invite a guest speaker from the emergency department in the local hospital, and I will also plan a trip to the emergency department.
6 Classroom policies
In my class, all cellphones are supposed to be silent, and in case there is disturbance because of someone's phone, the person's credit hours are going to be affected. I also need you to come to class dressed decently, not showing too much. I also expect that your hair is properly kempt and also the nails as this is a nursing course, and hygiene is paramount. In case one is late with one hour and above, they will not be allowed in class. A total attendance of seventy-five percent of the total classes will be considered for passing the course.
