A Night of Fashion A successful fashion show requires a team effort with a lot of hard work. As much as the clothes and designs are the most noticeable aspects during the cat walks, the role of the hair and makeup stylists can never be underestimated, since they play a major role in creating the complete image of the model. To achieve this, there are qualities required of both a hair stylist and a makeup stylist. Hair Stylist A good hair stylist is creative. They should have the ability to come up with new, unique and different ways to style the models hair. They, however, don't take their creativity to the extreme by creating crazy designs. A great hair stylist is organized; they keep track of their schedule, ensuring they meet their clients on time, and always make sure they have their equipment cleaned and ready to go when needed. A hair stylist is prepared and adaptable. Even when one is very well organized, things could go wrong at any moment. The hair stylist should be prepared to think out of the box and adapt to new circumstances; be it new tools, client requests that are way out of the ordinary or the changing trends in the industry. Hair stylists spend a considerable amount of time with their clients during their sessions. A personable demeanor could come in handy in making your clients happy and hence attract positive referrals. The stylists should have the ability to start and keep conversations going in an interesting way to kill the boredom or the tension that may exist, making the clients feel comfortable and cared for. A good listening ear is must, not only to the dramas in the lives of the clients, but most importantly to get clear clarification of what it is clearly the client wants. Hair styling usually entails the stylists standing for long hours and performing repetitive tasks like hair cutting and washing. The stylist will need to have a strong stamina in order to withstand the long hours of stress on their body and still deliver the required results. Makeup Stylist A makeup stylist should have a good eye for color and form. They should have a keen sense of what combinations of colors work best for the client and brings the best in their style and clothing. The stylist should have a great attention to detail and should not make any mistakes when applying the makeup. The stylist will need to possess manual dexterity and technical skill to accomplish most of the tasks involved in applying makeup. Just like a hair stylist, the job of a makeup artists will demand a lot of stamina due to the sometimes long hours while standing and doing repetitive tasks. A makeup artist who will be working at a fashion show, should preferably be experienced in doing such events. A lot will be expected of them in terms of applying the makeup very quickly and in the perfect way, and removing it or changing it without messing anything. Experienced makeup artists will also have the courage to experiment new ideas that might be ground breaking in the fashion show. The makeup artist should have good skills of working and coordinating with other make up stylists. During a fashion show, models may need to have more than one make up stylist in order to speed up the wardrobe changes. The makeup artists will need to communicate efficiently and coordinate to deliver a consistent result without any hiccup or interference from one another.
