Business Plan for Equanimity Foundation
Equanimity Foundation (EQFN) is a non-profit organization founded on the belief that a rejuvenated approach is required to bring meaningful and systematic reforms to marginalized communities. The organization believes in the philosophy that outsiders do not suggest and implement the best solutions to everyday challenges. For this reason, the foundation is “committed to adopting an inclusive strategy that ensures the voices of the vulnerable are heard and solutions designed can be sustained” (“Equanimity Foundation: About”). The organization must meet a unique set of challenges to solve societal problems and to achieve its mission – that is, “to partner with underserved and vulnerable populations so they can thrive even in adverse conditions and ensure policy and aid efforts prioritize their needs” (“Equanimity Foundation: About”). This business plan examines the entire organization and connects its functions to the mission. It also offers the opportunity to specify the resources required to attain its mission and establish performance measures for stakeholders to understand its aim. Moreover, the plan is critical in assessing the EQFN and document the fundraising or financing model’s feasibility, attracting investment and proving its commitment, inviting volunteers, and aligning its message with the mission.
Outline
This plan includes the projects previously undertaken, the products by the foundation, and highlights its efforts in publications. It also contains the marketing, impact, and financial plans, and an executive summary. The document draws out its experience to illustrate each of these components and demonstrates their linearity despite discussing them separately.
Projects, Products, and Publications
Although EQFN has a global outreach and a large scope of operations, it has developed strategies to work decisively and in nearly all environments. The foundation’s experts have previously completed projects in Colombia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Iraq, Mali, Somalia, and Syria. One of such projects is shown in Figure 1. Through these activities, the foundation demonstrated its problem solving abilities that leverage global experts and stakeholders (“Equanimity Foundation: Approach”). EQFN’s primary objective is to embolden and empower its partners in these regions by instituting local ownership to its projects and collaboration. The organization has also partnered with governments, institutions, and civil society to recommend culturally sensitive and context-specific reforms. For EQFN, flexibility, creativity, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to include stakeholders in developing solutions set it apart as a transformative institution that can develop implementable and long-term solutions for its beneficiaries.
