• Content Analysis of a State Travel Guide.
• The paper must include: (1) a description of the facts associated with the selected state, (2) listing and description of salient images that are portrayed on the cover of the primary guide, and (3) an overall evaluation of the quality and utility of the promotional materials. • Description of facts:
• Identify the state, identify the agency within the state responsible for the Web Site or publishing the materials (e.g., the Division of Travel of Tourism, Office of State Tourism, etc.). Provide a listing of the url for the web site (whether it is a *.com or ".gov). Does the Travel Guide include a "Welcome Letter from the Governor"? List the title of the primary travel guide (e.g., New Jersey Travel Guide, Michigan Travel Ideas, Arizona Traveler, etc.)?
• Salient Features.
• Next, the paper must include a listing and a two or three sentence description of a minimum of five salient features, or "images," portrayed on the cover of the primary travel guide (i.e., what is the state office of travel promotion trying to make prospective tourists think about the state?). • Evaluation of Materials.
• The paper must conclude with a three or four page evaluation of the promotional materials. The evaluation should answer the following types of questions (be sure to incorporate examples drawn from the material and to fully explain your reasoning, rational and/or motivation); Are parts, or all of the materials useful in making travel decisions? Is something missing, do you lack any information necessary to make a travel decision? Did the state travel materials motivate you to take an action regarding a visit to your selected state? Washington State is famed for its landscapes that are not only scenic but also excellent for various outdoor recreations. The states’ outstanding attractions guarantee memorable moments to those who visit them. Among these attraction scenario is the Olympic National Park which is a unique and varied wilderness preserve. It is designated as an international Biosphere Reserve and a UNESCOPE World Heritage. One cannot afford to miss various ecosystems that are present in this park and they include temperate rain forests, Alphine Mountains and rugged ocean beach. The Olympic national park’s hurricane ridge can be toured on a long day trip from Seattle (Brown, 2014).
The Mount Baker Highway is another scenic place one would not like to miss. The highway connects Bellingham and Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest. Along the way, there is a charming rural area. There are many enjoyable sceneries, picnic or hike point like Nooksack Fall, Horseshoes Bend and Heather Meadows. The other site of attraction is Mount Rainier National Park which has stunning beauty and a gorgeous view. Here there are hikes that ranges from simple to difficult and from short duration of time to several days hike. Another fascinating place to pay a visit is the Mount St. Helens National Monument. This place is close to an active volcano and this gives a certain thrill to those who visit the area. Pike Place Market in Seattle is another attractive site in Washington. It is parked with several stalls, eateries and shops that one can explore during a visit. Here one can enjoy the entertaining street music, find nifty craft items, gorgeous array of produce, sea foods and flowers. Seattle Center is another scenic site which is a legacy of the 21st Century Exposition. Seattle Center has open park spaces which has several performance and attraction venues. During a visit to Seattle Center, one can participate in major annual festivals such as Bumbershoot, Northwest Folk life Festival and Winter fest. One can also visit Space Needle, Pacific Science Center, McCaw Hall, Key Arena, Intimate Theatre and also have an experience of the SciFi Museum and Music Project. The above are just but a few scenic sites found in Washington State there
