Having considered Joe’s case, I am obliged to state my opinion and facts based on what is a viable thing. Joe has been working with us here in California for quite long, and we need to reconsider his leave matter since he has an ailing grandmother that he needs to take care of.
Joe just requested for leave to go and take care of his grandmother who is sick. He restated that this job is very important to him and that we need to give him a 6-month unpaid leave as he needs to take care of his grandmother for 24/7. The Federal Family and Medical Leave Act eligibility requirements states that one is eligible if the worker is working for a covered employer, had worked 1250 hours for the first 12 months before the requested leave, company has 50 or more employees and that it is within the 75 miles’ location, and have worked for 12 months.
