According to the case, the ER physician’s job was to alert any on-call doctors concerning urgent calls. In order to gain the job of an ER physician, one must have enough knowledge and experience that should enable them to handle any critical illness or perform a first aid. On this particular case, the ER physician had several options that he/she should have cycled through to handle the situation safely. To begin with, the physician’s knowledge was enough to perform a quick first aid on the patient until the on-call doctor was available. The physician should not have waited for any help but would have done it himself/ herself.
