Introduction
The Coca-Cola Company is a USA based multinational beverage company, and manufacturer, retailer, and marketer of nonalcoholic beverage concentrates and syrups. The company is listed in the NYSE under the trade name of KO. Since the 1920s, Coca-Cola has been a publicly traded company. The company has operations in over 200 nations and as of 2017, it was estimated to have a workforce of over 62,800 employees. Its strategy is centered on becoming more competitive through utilizing its broad assets-brands, financial muscle, unrivalled distribution system and the firm commitment by management and staffs globally (McGowan, Gardner, & Moeller, 2015).
A closer look at the financial statement of the company, one would notice that the sales of the firm had been growing steadily but the percentage of increase was varying. There was a significant rise in the 2011 in comparison to the previous year (2010), however, the growth in sales significantly declined to 3.2%. This decline in sales growth affected increase in gross for the year 2012 when compared to 2011. A look at financial performance of the company between 2014 to 2017, would notice the company had haphazard financial performance and this was attributed to rise in competition.
