Introduction
Psychological contracts refer to an unwritten set of rules and agreements governing employee and an employer in an organization. The unwritten rules bring forth a set of mutual expectations in the employment relationship (Rousseau et al., 2018). However, it is usually unfeasible to operationalize this relationship, given the different layers of representatives and agents representing the employer. As time passed, more conceptualizations were provided (Karagonlar et al., 2016). The psychological contract (PC) was further theorized as a mental structure that entails an individual's views molded by an organization regarding the exchange terms between the individuals and the entity. This conceptualization also outlined that the agreement was promissory; at times, the promise might have been implicitly or expressly (Rousseau et al., 2018).
