Introduction
Communication is the means of conveying ideas from one person to another or from passing informing from a point to an audience. The sender creates a message that requires passing from point to point, he/she decides on the most appropriate channel to use and transmits the information. Distractions might occur at any stage of the communication process, be it encoding, decoding or in the transmission.
Communication can be verbal where one listens to a person, written communication where one may read handwritten, typed or printed material, and nonverbal communication which involves observing a person to infer the message passed across. In nonverbal communication, eye contact is important, the movement of the body and gestures. Communication is termed complete if the information the sender intended to pass across was successfully received and understood by the target audience.
Model of Message Process
Communication can be interpersonal communication or the mass communication. According to Burleson (1983), Interpersonal communication involves the exchange of ideas between people despite the relationship between them it moves up the ladder from just being functional to being close conversation. Components involved in the model process; Source, this is the person who creates the message. The message itself is a vital component of a discussion, and this is the data or ideas shared from the sender to the destination (Henderson, 1987). The transmitter, transmission is the propagation of the information from one place to another. It can be electronic, and a good example is the radio and television broadcast.
