Is Elon Musk a Modern Genius?
Elon Musk is a renowned entrepreneur and the founder of Tesla Motors, SpaceX, and PayPal. Additionally, he has developed numerous unbelievable ideas, such as the Hyperloop Alpha idea, which outlines what he called the fifth mode of transportation. The idea has the potential to revolutionize the transport industry for its affordability and better service delivery as compared to the modern high-speed train. The introduction of electric cars in his SpaceX foundation and his whacky statements and tweets have gained Musk the crown to be reckoned as a genius. Elon Musk is considered a modern genius due to his brilliant mind that has worked to make the world better by combining imaginative design prowess with world-changing innovation.
Musk harbored a dream for making humanity multi-planetary and reaching out to the other planets at a tender age. For instance, after buying his first computer in life when he was ten years old, Musk stayed up three nights to learn the programming language, all from the manual, then proceeded to create a simple game, all by himself (Vandermey, 2015). He went on to become exceptionally good at coding and wrote all the code initially for the company that went on to become PayPal. After having spent so much of his childhood toying with these ideas, Musk has able to turn these all into reality, qualifying him as a modern genius.
Musk’s ideas, startups and the motive to develop the entire world instead of just his company show that he is a genius. He played a critical role in the upbringing of the entire human race through his creative mind that has seen him launch various startups and drive Tesla to success (Easto, 2017). Musk’s exceptional capabilities, proved by his unmatched business success, has generated his high levels of confidence, which has enabled him to formulate and pursue his beliefs, translating into a strongly held conviction regarding what the future should look like. In so doing, he has proved to be one of the most innovative people on the planet right now, a modern genius.
Musk’s ideas and products are life-changing and revolutionary. For instance, his unbelievable ideas and Hyperloop can save individuals money in their travels. According to Majchrzak et al. (2018), Musk proposed a ticket price of 20 US dollars for a trip from New York to Los Angeles, far more affordable than the price for a flight between the two cities, which cost approximately 125 US dollars (Easto, 2017). Moreover, Musk envisaged the system to cost a fraction of the budget that can be used in building a modern high-speed rail system. Notably, his ideas seek to take advantage of advancement in technology to improve the transport system by saving commuters time and money, revolutionizing the way people travel.
