The consensus in Decision Making
Consensus plays an integral role in solving disagreement among two or more groups. For example, there can be a consensus in the political setup to hold an election or a referendum to solve a dispute between two conflicting political parties or groups. Therefore, to achieve high-quality decisions in groups, consensus can be the best means to solve disputes regarding the plans and proposals to the table. This study aims at discussing the importance of the agreement regarding high-quality decision-making.
Consensus has a great benefit as it involves inclusive participation. This is where every member has a say in regards to the issue in question that brings disagreement. This helps the group connect and be on the same page as a result agreeable to all. The solution is neutral to all; therefore, no one feels ignored.
Consensus allows all team members to take part in issues that affect them as everyone is entitled to contribute towards the decision. At its core is a respectful discussion between equals, with individuals working jointly to meet every person's needs. From a personal perspective, it means having as much power as possible over verdicts that distresses one without having undue domination over everyone else. Consensus denotes working jointly and not against others.
