E-Learning is one of the greatest revolutions that have shaped the education sector over the last few years. In particular, it refers to learning that is facilitated through the internet without the need to attend physical classes. Unlike face-to-face learning that requires students to pay exorbitant school fees, online learning is becoming the preferred learning method since it is cost-effective and flexible.
Firstly, as the price of education continues to skyrocket, many students have found the key to keeping their tuition cost low in online learning. In particular, online students pay less since they do not pay for amenities such as libraries, cafeterias, and sports facilities. Moreover, many colleges and universities have invested significant resources to provide free online classes at the best schools in the world. For example, there are structured courses such as EdX and Coursera that register students, give them access to professors, and award verified certificates to students free of charge (Nisen, 2013).
Additionally, online learning is flexible and gives students the opportunity to study and work at their convenience. For instance, online classes do not require students to log in at specific times, meaning students can choose to study at any time and venue that fits their schedule.
