The Airlines' Impact on Climate and How to Curb the Effects (Essay Sample)

Instructions:

This paper is about The Airlines' Impact on Climate and How to Curb the Effects. The most common emissions that severely impact the climate from aviation include particulate matter, nitrogen oxide, CO2, and volatile organic compounds (Whitmarsh et al., 2020). Nitrogen oxide comes from the combustion of fuels at high temperatures, which puts aircraft on the lead because of the high temperature necessary for combustion. Once in the atmosphere, nitrogen monoxide is quickly oxidized to nitrogen dioxide, which can severely impact the climate.

The Airlines' Impact on Climate and How to Curb the Effects
Abstract
The impact of aviation on climate change is undeniable. The emissions, mostly from aviation-related activities, are contributing to global warming and therefore facilitating climate change. This paper discusses how the aviation industry is contributing to climate change and the steps that the stakeholders have taken to reduce the industry's impact on the environment. Further, since the projects undertaken by aviation require the attention of project management, the paper will discuss various other aspects of aviation projects, including how a project manager can minimize the project life cycle impacts of engineering design changes issued during the execution phase? How do project management ethics influence the success or failure of a project? What are the significant challenges associated with organizing and managing a project team? Proper project management is also necessary for averting the impact of the aviation on climate.
The Airlines' Impact on Climate and How to Curb the Effects
Introduction
While it is no secret that the world is advocating for environmental protection measures, the industries essential to the human race play a massive role in pollution. For instance, aviation emissions seem to be on an upward trajectory, which has got the world worrying. According to EPA reports, the aviation industry contributes about 12 percent of US transportation emissions. Further, the airline accounts for over three percent of the nation's greenhouse gases production, indicating the immense impact that the aviation industry has on the climate. This paper discusses the Airlines' impact on climate and how the industry is responding to this issue.
Aviation and Air Pollution
Most people have the impression that emissions from aircraft engines only influence air quality in airports. On the contrary, underground activities such as airport on-site energy generation and the vehicles ferrying people into and out of the airport also contribute to the environment's pollution.
Co2 is another common emission that comes from the aviation industry. It is one of the deadliest greenhouse gases whose impact on climate change is catastrophic. There are several ways through which CO2 contributes to climate change. First, it acts as a blanket and hence trapping most of the heat that the earth was capable of radiating into space. In other words, CO2 leads to global warming, which eventually leads to climate change. Therefore, to avert climate change, together with the impact of global warming, there is the need to curb the emission of CO2 and other greenhouse gases to the environment.
