1 What were the major causes of the American Revolution? In your opinion was the revolution inevitable? Why or why not? Include major causes including wars between England and France, English acts that the colonists objected to and problems between British troops and the colonists.
The American Revolution also referred to as the US War of independence took place between the years of 1765 and 1783 as a colonial revolt. This war had emerged between colonists and the Britain establishments in the struggle to attain independence from the British authorities. Finally, the US colonists emerged as winners against the Great Britain; this gave the United States independence1. Here, a number of factors led to the American Revolution, the factors include the Stamp Act, the Boston Massacre, and wars between England and France.
The Stamp Act played a major role in the American Revolution after it was passed by the British Parliament in 1765. This was a form of taxation where the American colonists were required to give a certain tax on any production of piece of papers they were using. This included legal documents, licenses, newspapers, ship’s paper, and playing cards1. The Act seemed to oppress the American conies thus fuelling uproar between the two parties. On the other hand, the Boston Massacre took place in 1770 when the British soldiers opened fire and killed 5 American men, this took place as the Americans were doing a peaceful march against the high taxes they were required to pay to the British government. This as well fuelled rebellion in some British colonies resulting into the revolution. Lastly, the war between England made France support the rebels. In this case, France provided money, troops, armament, naval aid, and military leadership which gave the US military strength and then victory against the British army1. Thus, the American Revolution was inevitable because the US people had to fight back against oppression and France’s which gave them power and opportunities to continue fighting for their freedom.

The federalists emerged as a strong coalition of individuals who had support to a strong national government, diplomatic with the British government, and the political class of men with experience and leadership in 1790s. The term Federalist gave a definition of people aligned to the administration of President George Washington2. However, Washington did not support the Federalists’ partisan activities. The party emerged from Washington’s executive and congressional branches and it dominated in power until when John Adams took over during the 1800 reelection2. Afterwards, the party lost in the 1816 contest but still remained a political force in some US states until 1820s. Here, Federalists’ members crossed into the Whig and Democratic parties.
