Cultural shifts have been seen with companies where some have succeeded while others have failed. Companies choose to have a shift as a result of an unwanted tread seen in the industry. The sole purpose of the existence of a company is to exercise control over the customers through winning over them. The question that arises however is what should be done when the company seems not to achieve its target. Should the company shut down? Should it change the locality or should it change its management? These are some of the questions that require to be answered before any decision is made regarding the company. Many companies have ever found themselves in this entanglement and the resolution has been to change the managent, that is to have a shift. Among the companies that have done this are Generla Motors, Starbucks, Old Spice and Pabst Blue Ribbon among others. Some succededed after the shift but some sank further into losses. This paper will look at the shift that Apple underwent with the aim of trying to figure out how the shift benefited Apple and its subsequent sales.
Apple was sinking down and down into the financial crisis but it took a bold decision of changing its management and this step is what placed Apple into the place it is in today. Just after being signed in as the new manager at Apple, Steve Jobs explained that his job would change over a time and that he would be prepared for that.
