Transmission of signals electronically can be from Analog Source to Digital Receiver or vice versa. To enhance how the transmission of signals takes place between the two media; resistors are used to monitor the charge and current required in the process. These are RL and RC Circuits. RC and RL resistor’ circuits are applied in electronics as a means of regulating and monitoring the transfer of signals. RC Circuits exists in the following forms (Hongshen, 2005)
Basic RC filters exist in two types; Low pass and High pass filters respectively. For Low pass; they allow signals with low frequency to go through circuits while moderating signals with high frequency. High pass filters allow signals with high frequencies to go through the circuit only up to a certain limit.
Basic RL Filters however operate in series circuits. Their main function is to regulate the amount of voltage in between transmission from analogue to digital circuits.
