Are Professional Athletes good Role Models Today Introduction A role model refers to an individual who acts as the best example in a particular social or behavioral role for the other people to emulate. About 59 percent of adolescents perceive athletes as their role models. However, not all athletes are positive role models to the young individuals. This is because in the past some of the athletes have been involved in situations that are scandalous and created a very negative example to the young individuals and youths.
