A report by Babson Research group (2013) revealed that over 6.7 million postsecondary students enrolled in an online class compared to 1.6 million in 2002.The research further indicated that the number of institutions offering online courses had tremendously increased with some colleges emphasizing fully online degree programs. Student demand is the primary factor contributing to this growth in online learning.
