To The Congressional Representative
The ObamaCare, when it came into being was supposed to provide affordable healthcare to the citizens but was not supposed to create pressure to the employers, Steinbrook, 2009. The congress pledged that it was going to ease pressure on small businesses by reducing the cost pressure but we are seeing that it is just adding more pressure.
First of all, the ObamaCare requires a lot of new rules and reporting, Steinbrook, 2009. Both small businesses and large ones have to have employees that would keep track of these rules and ensure all reports are submitted in good time. This adds on the human resource requirement. You need to either employer a person to keep track of this or add to the existing employees this role. For small businesses like ours, this is a huge headache since the cost of operation has greatly rose and we are opting on any way to reduce it and instead this healthcare plays a big role in increasing it.
When there is new rules every now and then, small business are unable to keep up. Compliance becomes an issue. Instead of concentrating on how they would expand, compliance issues becomes more paramount and steals the there would be time to think of ways of expanding. Also for large organizations, the Obamacare is a monster for there is the Cadillac tax for non-compliance, Blumenthal & Collins, 2014. They have to tax their employees and introduce fees that help pay for different health issues. If its affordability, it may no longer be as affordable as its seen as cost is added to the citizens in another way.
