In line with effectively working on this given gap in the literature, the postulated role of drones and their performance implications for post-diversification creativity is considered in this paper. The paper is out to consider the diversification that takes place within a single category in a bid to tease out any given effect of single-category, complexity of the less-researched realm of civil and social uses of drones. Maintaining Cohesion in Social Places Drones can be used to ensure cohesion in people, especially in social places. Despite the legitimacy advantages associated with drones, this strategy leads to the parent firm’s creativity devaluation due to the perceived routine rigidity and passive conformity to existing stances. In contrast, semantic autonomy is effective in enhancing the parent firm’s creativity when used with moderate frequency: too much of it is harmful. Any given drone’s prior social and financial market standing reverses the main effects of semantic strategies on firm creativity. The negative effect of drones is counterbalanced when a diversifier is affiliated to a business group. However, the positive effect of semantic autonomy disappears when a drone presents a high reputation (Guido, 2012). Aiding in Surveillance of Firms . Product diversification occurs when a firm adds new lines of product offering for its current market segments or consumer bases. Market diversification occurs when a firm targets new market segments or consumer bases within its current product lines. Within each strategy, firms can variously implement degrees of relatedness between old and new business lines. This allows the firm to leverage not only the existing technological base, but also the existing name as a symbolic resource in attracting social approval. If there is at least one word (besides articles and the like) shared between the old and the new names, we call it semantic seeding. As audiences are aware the existing legitimacy and meanings attached to a drone, seeding of the same issue can facilitate audience legitimating. When there is at least one overlapping word between the names, we conceptualize it as an occurrence of semantic seeding. Equivocation of Sales Diversification, the expansion of a firm beyond its usual activities, is one of the most widely regarded advantages of drones. Some of the known antecedents of drones include business groups’ attempts to increase market power, managers’ business strategies vis-à-vis shareholders, and resource utilization between different businesses (Guido, 2012). The consequences of diversification have been studied primarily in the context of financial performance, with primary and/or secondary stakeholders playing “important roles in aligning the fit between internally organizational conditions and external environments”. Successful diversification requires that firms effectively manage their interactions with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Advocating for Peace Just as the issue of relatedness has been at the core of drones for a long time, it has garnered much theoretical and empirical attention from organizational theorists dealing with categories and categorization processes. Within the macro category literature, categories are regarded as external environmental features. Peace is a major a feature that can be achieved by the use of drones (Franklin, 2012). However, firms engaged in mono-category diversification are better positioned than either entrepreneurs or multi-category diversifiers in overcoming these liabilities as they can more easily benefit from inter-business legitimacy. Conclusion Drones postulate a wide ray of uses. The underlying assumption here is that legitimacy can trickle down from more established to newly declared business areas and that there is some of a symbolic channel provided for legitimacy to travel through the minds of lay audiences. Despite the controversies in line with their use, the positive of drones can be embraced. References Franklin, J. (2012). An inquiry into the nature and causes of the wealth of internet miscreants.
