Introduction.
A post-traumatic disorder is a mental health condition suffered by individuals after encountering with a severe situation or events that are traumatic especially sexual assault, traffic collision, and warfare, or any other kind of threat that a person meets in his or her life. Indications may incorporate annoying attentions, attitudes, or dreaming about the related events; distress accompanied by mental or physical to the trauma acts. Comparison between the two methods of treatment.
The two methods discussed; EMDR and cognitive behavioral therapy, are found to be similar in some ways of treating the disorder. EMDR employs the use of eye movement to aid unprocessed memories to be processed. Both methods have the capabilities of to be an essential treatment alternative for the victims who agonizes from low self-esteem in co-occurrence with an inclusive assortment of psychiatric syndromes (Barrowclough et al. 2003; Hollon, 2013).

It was initially developed to provide treatments towards depression but later on employed in treating various conditions related to mental health.
