Technologies have a negative effect on personal safety. Despite easing communication and enhancing efficiency, humans have become more exposed to cyber-attack and bullying than ever before (Anderson, & Jiang, 2018). Everything is becoming digital, and this only means more exposure to a possible data breach. More cases of hacking into personal information have risen with the rise of technologies thereby significantly reducing individual confidentiality, worker privacy, and increasing viruses and infiltration. Overuse of technologies such as social media and mobile devices has a negative impact on users' psychology especially on teenagers and developing children. To others, social media have caused anxiety and depression caused by self-comparisons (Anderson, & Jiang, 2018).
