Tea, coffee, and cocoa are internationally accepted beverages that contain caffeine.
Caffeine is a chemical that stimulates the central nervous system by improving muscular movement and reaction time. On the other hand, extreme doses of caffeine cause the user to become dependent, causing a mild form of addiction. Caffeine is considered as both an enhancer and hazardous to human health.
Beverages containing caffeine are legal in all countries firstly because an improvement in motor coordination has been witnessed after uptake. A study done on patients with brain injury showed improvement when moderate doses were administered (Sanjakdar et al., 2019). The elderly that have incorporated coffee in their daily diet have a low risk of having a stoke (Nehlig, 2016). Caffeine citrate is on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines. It is known for having a protective effect against some diseases, including Parkinson's disease (Shrestha & Jawa, 2017). Individuals whose daily lives revolve around using their muscular system, especially in sports, should make coffee part of their diet, however in moderation because of an overdose as completely adverse effects. If the right amounts of caffeine are taken and especially by the elderly, the impact is positive on their health.
