2010 Haiti Earthquake
Haiti was badly hit by the earthquake four years ago. The earthquake hit the capital city of Port-au-Prince and killing more than two hundred individuals. Today, much of Port-au-Prince appears as though it did before the earthquake. A large portion of the tent camps in the country itself are gone (Stephen, 53). Moreover, the roads are stacked with packed vehicles, and businesswomen selling food. The majority of those whose lives were overturned by the earthquake are back in their homes. A large portion of the rubble has been removed from the streets. The seriously harmed presidential royal residence has at long last been abandoned. Also the administration is remaking its services downtown. However, the individuals' lives have not proceeded onward. They still live in the transitory plastic and plywood structures raised after the disaster (Preston, 81).
The nature disaster such as Haiti earthquake is a major antagonistic occasion taking place because of regular features of the Earth. As far as the present science and innovation is concerned the natural disasters are unavoidable. One should take Haiti as an example; Haiti earthquake hit the capital city of Port-au-Prince and killed more than two hundred people. A great amount of the tent camps in the nation itself are gone (Preston, 81). At the moment, the people's lives have not continued ahead. People live in the congested streets. The government should be well prepared following any disaster that can take place. Since natural disasters are unavoidable there should be measures prepared to handle the situation. The American government has, therefore, been preparing itself to handle such disasters, but it has not been an easy task.
As far as I am concerned, the government is preparing for it, and the preparation will strengthen and step up as each disaster happened. However, the prevention is not going to be such thoroughly due to the present technology. The government should be able to predict the natural disasters before they happen. They have to handle the situation before it gets worse. It is obvious such hazards will take place and there should be measurements to control it. Therefore, though I agree with the argument that the nation needs to be better prepared for when the disaster occurred, the reality shows us that the technology is not such easy to be improved. Thus, a more effective way is to improve the management and prepare people who understand their profession well. They will enhance the awareness on how to prevent the country from natural disasters. (Schapiro, 78).
The U.S government should step up the education on how to respond if the natural disaster occurred. Moreover, this knowledge is not only important for children and student. However, the government should do something to increase the awareness of crisis of each individual. The risk will be higher if we do nothing until the last minute. In the respect of the level of state, basically, more money reserve is necessary. (Schapiro, 102). The Haiti earthquake cost almost eight hundred dollars for every individual to get them out of the camps. This was said by the head of the Haitian government organization. Some of the money also need go to inhabitants as rent subsidies. (Schapiro, 78). Furthermore, it is necessary to encourage more people join the association of volunteer, and more professional training of rescuer is required. Following the current climate change and environmental pollution, the frequency of natural disaster might increase. The situation will not become more severe. The increase of the frequency might causing by artificial environmental destruction such as excess emission of greenhouse gases, and overuse of undeniable resources (Bell, 33).
In conclusion, Titanyen is a famous place where people are currently shifting to and start their new lives. This is a great place because it is situated on a land. Thousands have shifted and others are on the way shifting to such area to experience a new life. The government has not taken any step to revive the situation ever since the disaster took place. People have been suffering, and do not know when their issues will be solved The Haitians do not have light, water and even other basic needs. The worldwide donors have become very hard to find in order to donate their funds to the Haitian government. Probably, this is because as harder as they try to donate, they do not see any change. Individuals lack basic needs such as water and light. However, they are ready to stay in the newly established areas despite of the lack of basic social needs (Schapiro, 20).
