Cardiovascular disease (CVD) can be defined as all diseases related to the blood vessels and the heart, such as stroke and heart attacks. In South Carolina, (CVD) is proved to be the major cause of disability and death amongst men and women, both aged and young. In every year, about 630,000 people in America die from heart disease. Primarily, this lifestyle disease has several signs and symptoms and is preventable through risk factor awareness. This article analyzes the objectives and goals of community public health programs of dealing with stroke and heart attack diseases in South Carolina.
Major causes of heart attack diseases and stroke in humans is the clotting of blood within the blood vessels leading to the brain or the heart. The signs and symptoms of these two differs accordingly where sudden body weakness or numbness, severe headache, loss of vision, and dizziness define stroke, while chest discomfort, nausea, and discomfort in the rest of the body describe the heart attack. From these symptoms, it is advisable for the patients to seek urgent medical attention from the health-care givers for treatment
