Introduction of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) is one of the main technological advancements in the medical field that has impacted health delivery in various ways such as; enhanced on proper medication for patients, efficient access to patient’s data from other departments such as laboratory, and enhanced documentation. Basing on the computerized documentation, it has helped nurses present information that was initially hard to express on a paper documentation. They can now view graphs of values such as weight, blood pressure and temperature with ability to track the changes.
A well-documented data about a patient is so essential in a clinical setting. According to research, when the care providers have access to complete and accurate data, the patients end up receiving quality medical care (Kelley, 2017).
