According to Chriss (2022), informal social control has been widely successful in ensuring that individuals conform to certain standards that are generally acceptable to the majority. There are several examples of when agents of social control have utilized this approach to correct someone’s behavior and ensure that they conform to social order. Recently, my father and I were invited to a dinner party by a friend. At the dinner table, I was constantly on a phone call.
