This paper details the influential themes that have been discussed in the four papers; Peurifoy’s Revelation, The Disability History by Michael Rembis, Behind the Mask of Respectability and the Black Femisnist Organization and Emergence of Interstitial Politics by Kimberly Springer. These articles contain a number of themes including feminism, rights of minority and the rule of law. Further, I will discuss every two themes prominently discussed in each article and other important concepts related to LGBTQ.
Introduction
The rights of the lesbians, gay, bisexual, and transgender commonly referred to as LGBTQ brings about various concepts in our society. A number of authors have dealt with this topic (Sólorzano, Villalpando & Oseguera, 2005). There have been discussions that the LGBTQ group does not exist, however I am of the opinion that indeed this group of persons exists in our society and they have rights that must be protected by every individual and the government. Johnson’s book divulges into the topic of LGBTQ and is of the view that there has been a systematic upsurge of these people in our societies especially since the 1940s and 1950s (Sólorzano, Villalpando & Oseguera, 2005). Johnson has been successful in making sure that this ideas and concepts of gayism and lesbianism that had been sweet below the carpet has been brought up in the limelight and the agitation of their rights that have been infringed now is protected. The authors of these books on the issues surrounding LGBTQ is a risk issue that affects all the states and that no state shall exclude herself from making provisions in their constitutions and other pieces of legislations in making sure that this rights that are infringed, threatened are attained progressively.
