Introduction
Women embraced the American Revolution with a lot of energy and figure. They played a number of roles in the said revolution and the resultant war arising from the revolution. Some of the historians have authored a number of books that discuss the role of the women in the American Revolution. One of the outspoken authors for the American Revolution is Cokie Roberts-an historian who has been distinguished in the American history, he regards and considers women as the founding mothers of the revolution. He provides examples of these women who braved on with all manner of humiliation, persistence and struggle to make sure that the revolution was a success. Abigail Adams, the wife to the former governor of the Massachusetts congress, and Mercy Otis, a wife to Boston patriot, encouraged other women in their areas of influence to take on the revolution and fights for their rights. Some of other women virtually followed their husbands and men to the continental army for trainings and to offer moral support to the men.[Historyofmassachusetts.org. (2019).
