Self-discipline and protection of our bodies are significant aspects as they create respect and preservation of one's dignity. Music is an aspect that is always close to the heart and is rapidly spreading globally. Music videos are widely spreading, where artists sing as some dance. However, cases of sexual objectification of women in music videos are high. Women are more prone to sexual dancing by displaying their bodies than men. These females dance while showing their bodies, which affects their beliefs and thoughts, while it influences on gaze objectification adoption and is based on race, gender, and genre.
In most videos, especially music, women are used as sexual toys. Women are being objectified to music videos where their dignity is lowered and treated as sexual instruments. Aubrey, Gamble, & Hahn, (2017) studied on the empowerment of sexual objects and the self-sexualization influence on beliefs and thoughts related to gender, sex, and power. Self-sexualization refers to an aspect of participating in activities that are more sexually appealing. This aspect affects young adults' beliefs and thoughts on sexuality and gender. Music videos that capture the self-sexualization of female artists are reviewed to be more about sex than power. Aubrey, Gamble, & Hahn, (2017) conducted an experiment as they invited participants from communication class to engage in the production quality of music videos.
